We were very busy in the month of December. We had lots of learning going on and lots of fun going on as well!
We studied Evergreen Trees and reindeer one week and we made an edible evergreen wreath for a treat!
The second week we focused on the Gingerbread Man and we read several versions of this story. We compared and contrasted the different versions. Students wrote in his/her journals about their favorite story and shared with the class. At the end of the week we made a Gingerbread Boy and a Gingerbread Girl. The students enjoyed decorating each of them. We took them to the cafeteria to bake but when we returned for them we discovered that they had run away….so we searched for them all over the school. We finally found them safe in our classroom!
The entire school participated in the Christmas Program. It was really cute!
Before school was out for the holidays we enjoyed a fun Christmas Party. We made edible reindeer sandwiches and edible Christmas trees. We also had a gift swap and played bing bag toss.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is enjoying this nice long break from school! I can’t wait to see everyone in 2014! Happy New Year!
