Last week we studied the short vowel Aa and apples. Each student was asked to bring in his/her favorite type of apple. We made a graph to show “Our Favorite Apple”.
As you can see in the picture above, Red Delicious is our most favorite type of apple to eat.
We also estimated how many seeds were in an apple then we cut it open and counted the seeds. We compared our estimations with the actual number.
Since we are still studying the farm we decided to make our very own butter! We poured heavy whipping cream into a jar, added a little salt and shook the jar for a LONG time!
After all that shaking we finally got butter! We put it in a ziploc bag and saved it for our apple pie. We also tasted it on a cracker…it was delicious!
On Friday, after reading the story of Johnny Appleseed, we made 2 apple pies for everyone to taste. We made one with green apples and one with red apples. They were both yummy!
We had lots of fun learning about apples and tasting apple foods!
