Our focus story for last week was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. This is always a Kindergarten favorite. All of the letters in the alphabet climb up a coconut tree. The tree gets so heavy that the letters all fall down and get hurt. We discussed the alphabet this week and learned that there are 26 letters in the alphabet, there is a Capitol and a lowercase letter and there are 5 vowels. On Thursday we were so lucky to have Landon’s grandmother, a.k.a., Granny, come visit our classroom and help us make Chicka Chicka Boom Boom edible trees. The tree was a stalk of celery, then the students put peanut butter on the stalk and added Alphabit cereal to it. They were really cute and such a yummy treat!
Thanks Mrs. Little for visiting our classroom! Please let me know if you would like to volunteer to do an activity! We would love to have you!!
Coming up the week of Aug. 22-25:
We will study the letters Mm and Ss. We will learn the high frequency word “a”. We will continue to sort objects in a variety of ways. Our focus story will be Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?. We will study colors and color words.
We will also enjoy muffins to reinforce the letter Mm.
Wear your “Silly Socks” on Friday!!!
Hugs,
Mrs. J.
